Types of Fellowships at Qscan

Our fellowship programs are set in partnership with our new recruits to align with the aspirations of each individual.

We leverage the strengths of our existing specialists and expert mentors to ensure our fellows receive access to diverse case exposure and a strong breadth of diagnostic opportunities.

How you'll benefit:

  • elevate your career to a consultant level, with a gradual process within our private practice
  • access to the hospital radiology environment through our strong partnerships
  • dedicated training days, conference leave
  • strong mentorship from Qscan Group radiologists
  • attend our annual doctor conference and other professional development opportunities

At Qscan, we support radiologists to expand their expertise through flexible upskilling pathways within our clinical network.

Our approach focuses on hands-on, site-based learning rather than remote training models, ensuring radiologists gain practical experience in their chosen areas of interest. Opportunities are available to develop skills in modalities such as MRI and other subspecialty areas, while continuing to work as a consultant.

Radiologists undertaking upskilling pathways participate in a range of educational and clinical activities, including radiologist-led teaching, multidisciplinary meetings, internal learning platforms, and conference participation. These activities align with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists' Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework.

How you'll benefit:

  • Continue working as a consultant while building new skills
  • Hands-on, site-based experience across subspecialty areas
  • Access to advanced imaging modalities (e.g. MRI)
  • Ongoing mentorship and case discussion with experienced radiologists
  • Participation in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical education embedded in daily practice
  • Professional development aligned with RANZCR CPD requirements

Cara Odenthal

I completed a hybrid abdominal imaging fellowship with Qscan in 2020. The hybrid fellowship model facilitated
a smooth transition into private practice, but also allowed me to develop subspecialty knowledge in my areas
of interest.

In addition to abdominal imaging, during my fellow year I also received supervision in breast MRI and head and neck oncological imaging. The flexibility of the Qscan fellowship was ideal to allow me to further develop my knowledge in these subspecialties.
